Welcome to my website .....
I am a counsellor with over 13 years experience, and I am member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
My practice covers Havant, Portsmouth and Hayling Island;
You may have arrived at this website tentatively and are wondering how counselling can help you? You may be feeling stuck and unable to change? Maybe life seems to have lost its meaning? I believe counselling can be a safe place to explore your issues and my aim is to provide such a therapeutic experience for my clients. I believe in providing a sensitive, confidential, non-judgemental and supportive environment where clients can explore difficult themes, and gain insight into how their past may be impacting on their lives today. The knowledge of what we are holding onto from the past can help us to make different choices going forward. Do we continue to use the same negative strategies, or are there more positive ones we can use? It is my aim to help my clients find ways of being freer and feeling happier in their lives going forward.
As well as working in my private practice covering Havant, Portsmouth and Hayling Island; I have worked for a major Employee Assistance Programme, and I have experience of counselling for trauma, which I gained as a volunteer with a local rape crisis centre.
I work using an integrative, humanistic approach. These are terms you may, or may not, have come across. What I mean by this is that I work with what the client brings and see if we can work together to find, both a way of working, and a solution that feels right for you.
Continued Personal Development is extremely important to me, and I regularly attend training and seminars. This is not only a requirement of my professional membership, but I believe this keeps my work fresh and alive.
I work from locations both on Hayling Island and at Emsworth. These locations are easily reached from Portsmouth and Havant. I can offer both daytime and evening appointments. Please feel free to contact me, either by phone or email, should you require further information.
